Compréhension et expression Écrite (I)
The module of Written Comprehension and Production is designed to build a strong
foundation in effective writing, beginning with the mastery of sentence
craft. The first part focuses on different sentence structures (
simple, compound, and complex) and addresses common sentence problems (fragments, run-ons, choppy sentences, and wordiness) to ensure clarity and grammatical precision.
The course then progresses to a higher level, exploring the paragraph:
its essential structure, the function of its parts (topic sentence,
supporting details, and concluding sentence), and the effective use of
punctuation to enhance coherence and flow. This module attemplts to equip
students with the skills to construct clear, well-organized, and
powerful written communication.

Weekly lessons will introduce the students to the initial milestones of writing in English, namely the composition of different patterns of speech (Simple sentence, compound sentence, complex sentence) and some errors that they may encounter when formulating these types of sentences, mainly (Unparalleled Structures, wordiness, choppy sentences, stringy sentences, sentence fragments and run-ons). Once the students master the types of sentences, they will engage in studying the parts of a paragraph, and how to write well-crafted ones.
