General Objective

What is language and gender studies ? This course provides the general and basic interdisciplinary issues surrounding the topic. It covers the descriptive and prescriptive aspects of stereotypes that are attributed to both men and women based on their gender. In addition, it insists on revealing the early work on context, gender and language as well as presenting the most recent studies on the construction of gender identities in discourse and its intersection with the concept of disciplinary power.  We hope it will be useful for imparting knowledge to learners specializing in this inter-disciplinary field.
