Plant Ecophysiology

In this course handout, certain stresses encountered by plants in their environment will be examined. The main themes covered include:

The conceptual distinction between biotic and abiotic stress;

The effects of stress on plant growth and development;

The response mechanisms deployed by plants under stress conditions.

This course presents the fundamentals of plant ecophysiology in the context of plant adaptive responses to environmental constraints.
