Course Objectives: 

    • To introduce the learner to regulatory concepts, definitions and origins of legal texts, and knowledge of penal consequences.

Prerequisite:

      • All course content.

Course Content:
  1. General concepts of law (introduction to law, criminal law).
  2. Presentation of Algerian legislation (www.joradp.dz, text references).
  3. General regulations (consumer protection law, hygiene, labeling and information, food additives, packaging, trademark, safety, preservation).
  4. Specific regulations (personal work, presentations).
  5. Regulatory Authorities (DCP, CACQUE, hygiene office, ONML).
  6. Standardization and accreditation (IANOR, ALGERAC).
  7. International standards (ISO, Codex Alimentarius, NA, AFNOR)

Assessment Methods:
    • Continuous assessment (50%)
    • Semester examination (50%)
