Understanding Sentence Structure

This introductory course explores the structure of English sentences and how words combine 

to  form  phrases,  clauses,  and  complete  thoughts.  Students  will  learn  to  identify  different 

sentence  types  (simple,  compound,  complex,  and  compound-complex)  and  understand  how 

clauses  and  phrases  function  within  them.  Practical  exercises  and  examples  from  everyday 

communication and business English  will  be used to  strengthen  comprehension and  writing 

accuracy. 

Understanding the Parts of Speech


This course provides a comprehensive study of the eight parts of speech in English grammar: 

nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and 

interjections. 

English 1st Year


This introductory English course is designed for first-year Humanities students to help them develop a solid foundation in academic English. Students will learn the basic verb tenses, parts of speech, and sentence structure needed for clear communication. The course also introduces short texts related to the Humanities—such as history, sociology, philosophy, and anthropology—to build vocabulary and reading skills. By the end of the course, students will be able to understand and produce simple academic sentences, summarize texts, and use English more confidently in their studies.
