The objective of this module is to familiarize students with set-theoretic vocabulary, to present different methods

of convergence of real sequences, and to explore various aspects of the analysis of functions of a real variable.

Recommended prior knowledge:

  • ℝ is a commutative field

  • Mathematical induction, intervals, functions

  • Complex numbers, modulus of a complex number z, exponential form of a complex number

  • Convergent sequences, limits

  • Even and odd functions, continuous functions, differentiable functions

  • Natural logarithm, exponential function, logarithms with any base, power functions

Students should already know how to study real functions, sequences, and complex numbers.

The objective of this module is to familiarize students with set-theoretic vocabulary, to present different methods of convergence of real sequences, and to study the various aspects of the analysis of functions of a single real variable.
