Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to develop the following four core language skills:

  • Listening comprehension
  • Reading comprehension
  • Speaking
  • Writing

These skills are developed primarily through reading, analyzing, and discussing a variety of texts.

Recommended Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of English.

Course Content

This course covers a range of themes related to Civil Engineering and related fields.

For each course, the instructor supports students in developing their language skills—listening, comprehension, and both oral and written expression. In addition, the text serves as a basis for identifying and teaching relevant grammatical structures, which are addressed during the same class session.

However, not all grammatical structures need to be covered, nor in the same depth. Some may simply be reviewed, while others may be studied in greater detail, depending on pedagogical objectives.
