Summary:
Law is considered a branch of
important social sciences, and it is a significant and useful science for all
members of society alike. It is the science that defines the lawful scope of
individuals' actions and their relationships within an organized society.
A person cannot live a life of savagery and chaos while neglecting respect for the law. If one has chosen to integrate into a society where the interests of others are intertwined and conflicting, they are obliged to comply with the provisions of the law.
Hence the Roman saying that law and society are inseparable, or to translate it literally: wherever there is a society, there is law. A person who lives in isolation, far from everyone, relying only on himself to manage his life, does not exist in reality.[1]

يعتبر القانون فرع من فروع العلوم الاجتماعية الهامة، وهو علم هام ونافع لكل أفراد المجتمع على السواء، فهو العلم الذي يحدد النطاق المشروع لتصرفات الأفراد وعلاقاتهم داخل مجتمع منظم.
فليس بإمكان الإنسان أن يعيش حياة الهمجية والفوضى ويغفل احترام القانون، فإذا كان الإنسان قد اختار الاندماج في مجتمع تتشابك فيه مصالح أقرانه وتتعارض فهو ملزم بالامتثال لأحكام القانون.
ومن هنا كانت مقولة الرومان إن القانون والمجتمع قرينان لا ينفصلان أو بالترجمة الحرفية لهذه العبارة هي كلما وجد مجتمع وجد قانون، فالإنسان المنعزل الذي يعيش وحده بعيدا عن الجميع ويكون معتمدا على نفسه في تصريف أمور حياته غير موجود في الواقع.[2]
